Tulips, windmills, and long-lost family — does it get any better than this?

I recently helped plan a Dutch heritage tour for a wonderful group.  We explored the stunning Keukenhof Gardens, took in the iconic windmills, wandered through fields of color, and shared a beautiful lunch together (and maybe a few tulip cocktails).

The most magical part? For some in the group, this trip meant meeting some relatives for the very first time

A group of students from @amsterdam_amateur_ballet and I visited @tulipbarnholland for the most magical photoshoot. Blue skies, endless rows of color, and a little bit of ballet — does it get any dreamier?

Girl’s Weekend

Who doesn’t love a little girly weekend?

I loved planning this spring getaway for a group of friends. We kicked things off with the famous Bloemencorso flower parade — gorgeous weather and stroopwafels included.

From there, we explored the nearby tulip fields and got some dazzling photos.

That evening, we wrapped up with tapas and sangria at a local favorite.

The next morning, we were up early for a full day at the iconic Keukenhof gardens.

Family Week

For a family that returns to the Netherlands year after year, how do you plan a trip that remains full of fresh experiences? 

Lean into the rhythms of Dutch life and find moments that feel genuinely local — while still making room for the classics.

This trip was built around a slower pace, prioritizing family time over a packed itinerary. But slower doesn’t mean uneventful. King’s Day brought them straight into one of the most joyful days in the Dutch calendar — hopping between free markets filled with orange-clad locals, vintage finds, and homemade stroopwafels. The Dutch countryside offered a quieter counterpoint: farmers’ shops stocked with fresh cheese and seasonal produce, and the kind of unhurried scenery that no guidebook quite captures. And of course, a visit to the iconic Keukenhof, where millions of tulips in full bloom never fail to impress — no matter how many times you’ve been.

Unhurried, rooted in the real, and still full of highlights worth talking about long after you’re home.
